WARRIOR:
BECOMING GOD STRONG FROM THE INSIDE OUT

This isn't just a book about spiritual warfare. It's training for the fight.

WARRIOR: Becoming God-Strong From the Inside Out takes readers through a deeply personal and practical journey of learning what it means to stand when life strips away strength, certainty, identity, and control.

Through Scripture, personal testimony, the armor of God, reflection exercises, and practical application, Pastor Winston C. S. Taylor challenges readers to stop fighting from fear, shame, guilt, and self-reliance—and learn to stand from the truth that they are unconditionally loved by God.

Nine chapters. One journey. Becoming God-Strong from the inside out.

A LITTLE ABOUT THE BOOK

01

BE GOD-STRONG

Discover where real strength begins.
When everything you rely on is stripped away, what remains? Through the author's own experience of failure, arrest, loss, and rebuilding, discover seven dimensions of God-given strength—physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, intellectual, social, and financial—and why true strength begins with dependence on God.

Key truth:

Strength in Him begins where our strength ends.

03

BE ANCHORED

Secure your life in truth.
The belt of truth holds the armor together—and truth holds us together when lies attack our identity. Readers learn to recognize the voices of guilt, shame, fear, and condemnation and replace them with the truth of who God says they are.

Key truth:

Every spiritual defeat begins with a lie. Every spiritual victory begins with truth.

05

BE AT PEACE

Find firm footing in the middle of chaos.
The gospel of peace becomes the warrior's footwear—providing stability, endurance, mobility, and readiness. This chapter moves peace beyond the absence of trouble and presents it as a way of living grounded in Christ even when circumstances remain painful or uncertain.

Key truth:

Peace is not avoiding the battle. Peace is knowing where you stand in it.

07

BE SECURE

Protect the battlefield of your mind.
The helmet of salvation guards against some of the enemy's most dangerous “head shots”: shame, fear, insecurity, condemnation, and uncertainty about salvation. Readers are invited to live with the mindset of someone who knows they are forgiven, restored, loved, and part of God's family.

Key truth:

You don't fight for salvation. You fight from the assurance that you belong to God.

09

BE PRAYERFUL

Activate the armor.
Prayer is not placed last because it matters least. It is what brings everything else to life. This final chapter reframes prayer as more than words spoken to God: it is a life of dependence, relationship, trust, community, surrender, and continual communion with Him.

Key truth:

Prayer is the oxygen of the armored believer.

02

BE UNMOVED

Learn how to stand when life hits hard.
Everyone eventually faces an “evil day”—the diagnosis, betrayal, failure, loss, or crisis that threatens to shake everything. This chapter confronts the lie “You're not good enough” and teaches readers how to stand their ground when feelings, circumstances, and shame tell them to collapse.

Key truth:

Standing is not a posture. Standing is a belief.

04

BE LOVED

Protect your heart with righteousness.
Using the breastplate of righteousness, this chapter asks one deceptively simple question: 'How is your heart?' Readers explore how identity, emotions, beliefs, reactions, and relationships flow from the heart—and discover that righteousness is not something we earn through perfect behavior, but something received through Christ.

Key truth:

You don't obey God to earn righteousness;

you live differently because you have received it.

06

BE ASSURED

Raise your shield when the arrows come.
Faith is not passive belief. Like the Roman shield, it moves toward the attack. Readers learn how faith protects the mind, family, future, identity, and hope—and why warriors were never meant to fight alone. The chapter's workbook even asks readers to identify the people in their own “shield wall.”

Key truth:

Faith believes God enough to act.

08

BE PREPARED

Learn to wield the Word.
The sword of the Spirit moves Scripture from something we merely read to something we know, store, understand, and use. This chapter provides practical Bible-study training and teaches readers how to build a reservoir of Scripture the Holy Spirit can bring to mind when the battle comes.

Key truth:

Store up the Word before you need to swing the sword.

MORE THAN A BOOK. IT'S TRAINING.

Reflection • Scripture • Prayer • Workbook Exercises • Practical Application

Every chapter includes opportunities to stop, reflect, write, pray, identify the lies you have believed, and replace them with God's truth. The workbook portions are intentionally practical—the reader isn't simply being told what spiritual armor is; they're being challenged to put it on.

The book describes the journey as “identity restoration” because every chapter, exercise, and prayer rests on one unchanging truth:

God loves you unconditionally.
